Aily Carrillo at Bb. Jazmin J.Hibay.

Who am I? What am I?

I AM A STUDENT

I study...I study a lot. I seldom play. When I fell like playing, I just get my pen, notebooks and books as my toys. I do my projects, my assignments, even if it is late in the evening. I participate in class discussions. I answer my teachers’ questions, written or oral. I think  in times I don’t know the answer. I study because it’s the reason why I go to school…
Its really easy to study IF YOU DO IT RIGHT.

I AM A FRIEND
I HAVE MANY FRIENDS. We Treat each other like sisters. But I don’t know why I got mad at them sometimes. There are times when I don’t feel like seeing them.or t alking to them. But I realized there is no such thing as perfect. So whenever our friendship is challenged, I see to it that before the day ends, everything is fixed.

I AM A WRITER
I write. But I don’t consider myself yet as a versatile writer because writing is crucial. I am a budding writer, maybe because I’m just starting how to write the journalistic way.. It’s not easy though I’m trying. I try to write articles which I consider “good enough” for a first year student like me. But I won’t settle for just being like that. I will strive to be the writer I want to be...and I believe I can make it...someday.

THE REAL ME
I’m simple yet behind my mysterious face is life’s problems I face. But I strive to solve them young as I am. A young girl with many questions to answer. Why bother. I know this is just part of growing up. So I just smile, laugh, frown and cry. I am an ordinary person trying to be myself...just like everybody else….

Bagsak na Naman Ako...Bakit?
 Jonna B. Hallig
 ________________________________________________________________________________

“Maam, may I go out...uuwi po muna ako saglit”.

 _________________________________________________________________________________

I don’t know how to write. I don’t even know how to construct a good sentence. I just go to school and do the usual thing until the school decided to have a newsletter. At first I was so hesitant to join. I was bothered not to make it there. How could a first year student like me do such a challenging task? But with a curious heart, I took the qualifying test. There’s no harm in trying anyway. Until I woke up one day...I’m already a part of it. Yes, I am now a writer...an amateur one.
True enough, the life of a writer is not an ordinary one. The challenges are there. My first “baptism of fire” was when we joined the DSSPC. I was so shocked of the trainings in preparation for the battle. I thought I was unprepared knowing that the training was only for four days. As I started the rigid writing exercises with our adviser and with the help of our school head, I almost thought of giving up with all my outputs scratched out with red inks of comments and more. I thought, writing was really not my craft.
One busy day of December 2010, I unintentionally entered our school’s mini-library. No one was in sight as I look around, then a copy on The CNHS Herald displayed on the wall caught my attention. I sat down and started scanning pages of the said magazine.
One article that pleased me much was entitled “ Start with a scratch and be a writer”...After reading the article, one realization came to my mind…”no one really starts full and perfect...Every writer has to undergo the process of rejections until he becomes a seasoned one”…
With that, I found myself holding a pen and started writing. I submitted it to my English teacher. At first it was rejected for so many times that I had to do a lot of re-writing of my article until it was finally accepted. I felt so proud and started writing more…
As I continue writing for the first issue of our school paper, I found out that there are so many things I want to write. I want to express so many things in my mind. I want my classmates and my friends to know what I know and what they should know. I want to explain so many things through writing…
A simple person with few words I am, the power of my pen is all I need. I want my pen to talk for me. I want to prove that writing is not a waste of time...that writing can be a source of strength…
I want my readers to smile and say…” Keep on writing Cyril… you inspire us”
Now, I am not afraid of rejections for my articles...after all I know I am still in the process of sharpening my pen...I should really have to start with a scratch because I want to be a WRITER….

Black Knights Rule

This is the original sports page
 of the publication's first issue

Anchoring on the unstoppable agility and power, black knights showed dominance in almost all events and finally bladed the first ever sports crown versus the White Slayers in the last concluded action-packed First Biton High School Sports Intramurals, September 9-10, 2010 inside Biton High School Campus.

The black Knights marked supremacy in almost all the events featured by slicing the magnificent 232 over-all points against the  182 of the White Slayers.

The annoyed Slayers tried to regain powers in the middle of the scuffling 2-day combat as it registered remarkable points in badminton, Volleyball (G), and throwing events, but this hasn’t been enough to pacify the black’s scuffle of dominance.

The whites waned finally and gave up  in their race to the crown favoring the relentless rivals who showed authority in Volleybal (Boys),
Badminton (Singles and Doubles;Boys and Girls),  and in the Search for Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2010.
With much amazement, the audience lauded the school for conducting the said activity. “We are expecting for more next year”, says the parents.
The black Knights were students of I-Pharaoh while the White Slayers were the I-Emperor students.
“ Nobody is a loser in this activity. The experience itself is enough to say that we are successful” says Mr. Ross G. Gime, Biton HS Teacher-In-Charge.
He likewise expressed his gratitude to Ms. Roxanne D. Sacupon
and Ms. Vernaluz De Asis for their participation as judges to the search;.

Biton HS students, teachers and parents also convey gratitude to Caditaan National High School for lending the school with sports equipment and for allowing some of its teachers to officiate in the games like Jamil John Villa who officiated the Badminton Events, and Mr. Ryan G. Pangulong NOnoY

Matalino’t mayaman, maabilidad at magaling magsalita.
